Embracing AI for a smarter, more agile workforce

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer just a term in science fiction. Now, with developers optimising and finding new ways to increase the capabilities of AI, it’s no longer something that we can ignore.

At Certis, we are constantly developing new technologies to enhance our solutions. Through our extensive research and development, we’ve taken big strides in providing one-stop solutions for our partners, giving them the most cost-efficient service as we work together to make the world smarter. One example is Mozart, our award-winning solution helping our partners deliver seamless business-critical operations.

Leveraging AI in talent development

How then, do we leverage this complex tool in the talent development side of businesses? That is the focus of the panel discussion “Vision 2030: Shaping Future Business Realities With Talent at the Core” featuring our Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Dr Jaclyn Lee at the People Matters TechHR Singapore 2025 Conference this past March.

In today’s world of business transformation and upskilling of workforces, what does it mean for the future of talent development? What are HR leaders doing to prepare for this shift?

Speaking with leaders in the industry such as Melinda McKindley, COO – Talent & Strategy, Standard Chartered; Shayan Hazir, Chief Digital Officer, ASEAN, HSBC and moderated by Haslam Preeston, Chief People & Culture Officer, CapitaLand, Jaclyn shared how AI can be adopted in “lower-risk areas”, such as recruitment.

“One of the key HR functions where AI is making a big impact in is recruitment, particularly in automating applicant screening. AI helps us process large volumes of applications efficiently, ensuring we find the right candidates faster,” said Jaclyn.

While there still needs to be a human review of the vetting process by AI, it ultimately helps the team save time that can be allocated to other tasks.

Increasing AI literacy amongst Certis employees

As AI continues to permeate different business functions, from technology to human resources, to marketing, how can companies ensure that AI is utilised effectively?

According to Jaclyn,

“Before investing in new AI solutions, companies should start small with the tools they already have, train employees on practical applications, and scale based on proven impact”.

Certis provides resources for individual employees to upskill at their own time, through our online learning portal, and through our recent collaboration with Singapore University of Technological Design (SUTD). Our people are given the opportunity to attend classes dedicated to enhancing AI literacy, to ensure that everyone at Certis can tap on the potential of AI.
