Australian soldiers are the true Security guards of our country. Certis Security Australia acknowledges that the freedoms we all enjoy as Australians were only achieved by the sacrifice & contribution of thousands who have served or died in all wars, conflicts, peacekeeping operations and suffered for our great nation.
It’s an especially important day for Certis Security Australia State Manager, Gerard Nolan. Before he joined our team, Gerard served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) for ten years. He began as an Infantry Soldier and progressed to an Officer. During his time in the ADF, Gerard was deployed to East Timor in 1999 following the failed UN Independence Referendum. This gave Gerard sense of accomplishment in helping the East Timorese people in what was a terrifying and terrible situation for them.
Each year ANZAC day serves as a moment of reflection on the sacrifice made for our country. Gerard thinks of mates he served with from his past. He also has relatives that have served in past conflicts and takes the opportunity to think of them.
Gerard welcomes everyone to attend an Anzac Dawn Service on Thursday 25 April. Anzac Day is a time for the community to come together to remember and recognise the service and sacrifice of members of the ADF, like Gerard.
We remember their Sacrifice and honour their lives on this important day.
Lest we forget.
