The Special Children’s Christmas Party is an annual event with a simple goal: to put a smile on children’s faces for at least one day this year.
Certis Security Australia was honoured to partner with the Special Children’s Christmas Party as a major sponsor for the second year in a row, welcoming almost 4,000 children from the greater Sydney region to the biggest party of the year.
Working closely with Make A Wish Australia and over 150 other local charities, community groups, schools and government organisations for over 20 years, the event brings joy to children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses, special needs and intellectual impairment, mental and physical impairment, and victims of sexual and domestic abuse.
Thanks to the support of generous volunteers and donors, guests were treated to a day of food, fun and entertainment that they will remember for years to come.
There were presents available for kids of all ages, with each child able to take home three toys of their own. Our team of volunteers had an amazing time connecting with these special children while helping out in the Toy Room and were incredibly moved by their reactions.
“It was a great privilege to be part of this event and it made my day to see these kids so happy. Handing out the toys to the children and seeing the smiles on their faces really made me feel blessed,” said National Manager Health, Safety & Wellness – Risk and Safety, Luciano Gallina. “Being a father and a Nonno, it brings me near to tears of happiness when I see the children so happy.”
Information Technology Project Manager, Linda Tomlinson agrees, saying “It was a great event for an awesome cause. We were incredibly lucky to be working in the Toy Room, as we got to see big smiles and hear delighted squeals from the children as we handed them their toys, as well as receiving grateful ‘thank yous’ from their loving parents and carers. It is a great event to be sponsoring as a company and it makes me proud to be part of the Certis team.”
No child should have to go without happiness, love and joy during the holiday season, and the Special Children’s Christmas Party ensures that no child is unseen or unheard.
