Celebrating our partners at the Australian Airports Association’s National Industry Awards

Every year the Australian Airports Association’s (AAA) National Industry Awards bring together the brightest stars of the aviation sector for one exceptional evening, celebrating those who have achieved excellence in innovation, sustainability and safety.

Held during the AAA National Conference & Industry Expo in Adelaide, the Awards honour contributions made by AAA regional and metro members over the past year and acknowledge those within the industry who have achieved excellence. After last year’s virtual ceremony we were pleased to join our friends and colleagues in person earlier this month for the celebrations.

Our partnership with the AAA is a long-established and precious one, drawing on our 50+ years in the Australian aviation industry, and we were delighted to step in once again as a Gala Dinner Partner.

Certis Security Australia’s General Manager of Aviation, Yalda Assef, gave a stirring address, congratulating the industry on their resilience over the last year. Yalda also highlighted causes close to her heart, including diversity and equality. She spoke passionately about Mahsa Amini, a young woman from Yalda’s home country of Iran, who has inspired protests and conversations around the world.

By telling Mahsa Amini’s story, and using her own story as a first-generation immigrant, Yalda called on attendees to take the opportunity to influence positive change within their organisations and wider communities, increasing diversity and striving to create a better environment for all Australians.

Greg Hay, General Manager of Aviation at Sydney Airport, considered Yalda’s speech ‘inspirational’.

A special congratulations to all the award winners, including our partners at Adelaide International Airport who took out two of the biggest honours!
