With technological change, the concept of physical security is now
being redefined by new tools to ensure safety and deter crime. In an
exclusive interview with the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong’s
leading English Language Paper, Mr Paul Chong, Group Chief Executive
Officer, Certis said that the shift of digital video was like “ a breath
of fresh air” combined with the ubiquity of surveillance cameras,
fundamentally changed the direction of security.
He also added that in Hong Kong, there are challenges of a shrinking
pool and rising wages. So one solution is to leverage technology, and
devise novel ways to resolve problems.
Certis has grown its presence in the Greater China region in recent
years to about 3,000 employees today, rising from under 1,500 in 2017.
To spearhead its expansion, the company earlier this month appointed
former Hong Kong Commissioner of Police Tang King-shing as its regional
chairman.
