Since embarking on its digital transformation three years ago, security provider Certis has expanded its range of service offerings which has become much wider and more sophisticated.
New services include intelligent analytics and surveillance solutions; network and security infrastructure solutions; smart hub and smart city solutions.
“We felt that we had to do something,” said Joseph Tan, Certis' Senior Managing Director, Head, Technology Services. “This transformation was required to allow us to change with the times.”
The digital transformation journey started within the organisation. According to Tan, given the scale of the disruption, it was critical to get the whole workforce on board.
“We need our existing staff to adopt and be willing to let technology assimilate into our operations. The change in mindsets is key; the focus is to make them understand [that] the need for technology is intrinsic in everything we do,” said Tan. “The journey makes us realise we could be very productive and competitive at the same time.”
Technology as just an enabler, while the application of the technology is what sets Certis apart from other security agencies.
“As we start to embrace the digital world, we must also be the assurer of the digital world, so that the [security] chain is complete,” said Tan.
