Key Responsibilities of an APO

Guarding & Patrolling
- Conduct armed/unarmed security patrols and law enforcement
- Monitor surveillance systems at command centres
- Respond swiftly to incidents and emergencies
- Attend to on-site security enquiries

Crowd & Traffic Control
- Manage crowd movement in public areas
- Perform traffic control duties to ensure smooth vehicular flow
- Maintain order during public events and emergencies

Escort Duties
- Provide armed escort services for personnel, valuables, or high-risk assets
- Ensure the safety and security of escorted VIPs, celebrities, person-in-custody (PIC) or items
- Respond to threats or incidents during escort operations

Integrated Command and Control
- Conduct immigration and security checks at checkpoints
- Perform access control and thorough security screenings

Job Requirements For APOs
- At least a GCE ‘N’ Level certificate or its equivalent
- Singapore Citizen
- No prior experience is required as training will be provided
- Applicants must undergo 9–10 weeks of training and be able to pass IPPT
- Able to perform 12 hours rotating shift
Positions are available in both armed and unarmed roles, depending on operational needs and training suitability.
