As we welcome the new year, Certis is also delighted to welcome Renee Duffy, the new Chief Financial Officer for Certis Security Australia! As the newest member of our Senior Leadership Team, Renee is a key part of our ongoing efforts to develop our organisation and reflect the modern face of the Australian security industry.
Drawn to Certis by our commitment to being the most advanced integrated security services partner, Renee is looking forward to drawing on local history and global experts to innovate, transform and help clients optimise their operations into world-class solutions.
This is an extremely exciting time for Certis in Australia. The 2021 appointments of new Chief Executive, Kang Song Lim, and Joanna Simpson, General Manager of Australian Technology, herald a renewed strategic focus on the innovation and implementation of industry-leading technologies to revolutionise the Australian market.
“We’re entering a whole new world of security technology, navigating the integration of artificial intelligence and robotics with our existing manpower capabilities, and taking Certis Security Australia to new heights with electronics,” said Renee. “We have the data we need to develop the greatest opportunities for impact. The future of security is about protecting and saving lives through risk prevention, finding new ways to use our existing abilities and core values. One of the key reasons I took the role was the opportunity to reshape an organisation by amplifying its ability to react to changing circumstances. It’s going to be fantastic.”
Renee not only brings a wealth of financial experience to her new role in Certis, but also an understanding of the benefits of company history and longevity. For the past 17 years, Renee has worked in Australian media, mostly for industry giant Fairfax Media, now Nine Entertainment Co. Starting as an Assistant Regional Accountant, Renee grew her profile as she worked her way up to Finance Manager, Director, and finally Chief Financial Officer of Australian Community Media. This time included multiple mergers and acquisitions, giving Renee an opportunity to influence the improvements that came from these changes.
This climb up the corporate ladder has given her great respect and appreciation for those who have managed and mentored her along the way. Now she uses her experience to mentor and inspire others.
“Anyone can be a great manager in good times; it’s a real challenge in hard times. Good management comes out in the most difficult periods, and adaptability is essential. I’ve been grateful for the times in my career when I’ve benefited from the guidance of female Chief Executives, and now I want to offer those same opportunities to those who are just starting out. It’s not about ladder jumping – it’s a holistic view on how you can grow, regardless of what industry you move into.”
Renee’s appointment as CFO is a testament to Certis’ desire to advance, develop and create new ways of doing business.
“Certis is committed to bringing the latest tech to the Australian market, and we need a stellar team to help us succeed,” said Kang Song Lim. “Renee completes our Senior Leadership Team, so we can now really focus on making this a reality.”
Welcome to Certis, Renee!
