It’s been a year of change in the world of security for Certis, SNP and BRI Security. Starting with BRI in October 2016 and accelerated by SNP in February 2018, Certis has been growing its business in Australia. So what’s next for us?
The future of Certis Security Australia
Major completion of the integration of our business is well underway, and will be complete by early next year.
We’re led in Australia by former Managing Director of SNP Security, Tom Roche, in his new role as Senior Managing Director of Certis Security Australia. We’re already pursuing ambitious growth targets, including increasing revenue to $750m by 2025.
Tom’s vision in Australia sees the company growing from third-largest player to the position of number one, while also securing contracts for a 50-60 per cent share of the aviation security market. We will be a technology driven company, offering an integrated approach to advanced security, facilities management and guest services through what we call Security+, enabling us to re-imagine new concepts of operations for our customers.
Other targeted industries include security for transport, logistics, critical infrastructure installations and commercial precincts, to add to our aviation and protective security portfolios around the country, serving both commercial and Government clients.
Our Australian business is also looking to expand into retail, drawing from the group’s experience with major retail mall operators in Singapore.
Our shared histories
Certis and SNP share long histories in their respective countries.
Founded in 1923, SNP began when John Roche arrived in Australia in 1890. He became a highly-regarded superintendent, and after he left the force formed a security business in The Rocks with son Tom. Since then, the business has been managed by John’s grandson Kevin, and now John’s great-grandson, Tom Roche, who has led SNP for the past 25 years.
Certis was established in 1958 as a Guard and Escort unit under the Singapore Police Force. Today, Certis is a leading advanced integrated security organisation that delivers multi-disciplinary security and integrated services. We integrate advanced security, technology, facilities management, customer service and talent to build and operate bespoke solutions for complex and critical operations that extend beyond security. This approach is called Security+.
Both Tom and Certis Group Chief Executive Officer Paul Chong believe the future looks bright, driven by the business’s core values and mission: to be the most advanced security services partner globally, and ultimately, make the world a safer, smarter and better place.
A similar ethos drove John Roche all those years ago – and it will now propel Certis Security Australia into the future.
